NVH Newsletter March 2025
Road Construction Edition:
We are publishing our newsletter early this month, and limiting ourselves to only one topic!
The City of Tonasket’s next phase of road construction is scheduled to start in one week, and this phase is going to be very impactful for our patients.
Whitcomb Ave (Highway 97) will be closed from 1st Street to 3rd Street, requiring traffic to detour on Western Avenue. In addition, the work will also limit access to the main entrances of Family Health Centers, Dr. Nau’s, NVH Rehab, and the Tonasket Family Medical Clinic.
Our goal during the project is to make it as easy as possible for all patients or visitors to get into the building, particularly for those with limited mobility.
The Green Stars represent Drop-off only zones; the pink zones are suggested patient parking areas.
The Tonasket Eagles in partnership with City of Tonasket have designated a portion of their lot for patient parking as well. (Thank you!!!)
Employees of NVH, Extended Care, Family Health Centers, and Dr. Nau’s will be parking further away to allow patients closer access.
The construction team will maintain a narrow sidewalk along Whitcomb and a temporary crosswalk (approximate location shown in green). Please be sure to respect their safety signage.
Vehicle access to the Main Hospital Entrance will only be possible from 3rd Street through the alley. This section can be congested and would be good to avoid when possible.
A few things to keep in mind:
If you have a scheduled appointment, give yourself a few extra minutes to make the trip
Consider using the drop-off zone on 1st Street to avoid congestion at the main hospital entrance
If it is safe for you to so, leave spots closer to the entrance for those that have the most need
Use extra caution when crossing through the detour area and around the construction site
The project is scheduled to wrap up mid-summer. We will provide additional updates as things change, but as always feel free to reach out with any questions.
